Ralph Falkenstein MD

“There has hardly been a day in over 35 years of practicing ophthalmology in Danbury when I wasn’t eager to “go to work”. I consider it a privilege to attend to the community’s eye care needs with my best effort and professional ability.”
Dr. Ralph Falkenstein opened his practice for ophthalmology in 1974 and in 1990 was a founding member of Danbury Eye Physicians and Surgeons, P.C.. He is a graduate of Columbia College and received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Yale School of Medicine in 1969. His ophthalmology training was served at the Bronx Municipal Hospital Center (Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Hospital).
Dr. Falkenstein is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and a member of the American Board of Ophthalmology, American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery and Connecticut Society of Eye Physicians. Over the years, he has developed a special interest in cataract surgery along with his general ophthalmology practice. He is on the staff of Danbury Hospital and the Danbury Surgical Center. Dr. Falkenstein has given talks about cataract surgery at several national meetings.
He states, “It is a daily pleasure to practice ophthalmology with the talented and cohesive group of professionals, who, along with the dedicated and caring staff, truly attempt to provide personalized attention and advanced medical eye care to our community. The challenges are many – but so are the opportunities for advancing our mission statement of remaining the premier ophthalmology practice in the greater Danbury area. I will continue to tend to my patient’s eye care needs with my best effort and professional ability.”
