Dr. Young was raised in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. She attended the University of New Hampshire where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. She then worked for over 12 years as an Occupational Therapist specializing in pediatric and adult neuro-rehabilitation. Treating brain injured and stroke patients with visual deficits inspired her to pursue a second career in Optometry.

Dr. Young graduated Salutatorian, with highest honors, from Nova Southeastern University with a Bachelor of Science in Vision Science and a Doctorate of Optometry. She was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society all four years and received awards for Excellence in Vision Therapy and Ocular Disease.

Dr. Young specializes in the management of patients undergoing cataract surgery and refractive surgery including LASIK, ASA, Intacs, Advanced technology intraocular lenses and Implantable contact lenses. She manages patients’ visual needs including glasses and contact lenses. In addition, she treats a wide scope of ocular diseases.

Dr. Young is Board Certified by the National Board of Examiners for Optometry and is licensed in Florida.

In addition to her work here, Dr. Young is an adjunct professor at Nova Southeastern University in the Pediatrics and Vision Therapy Clinic. She enjoys spending time with her husband and dogs.
