Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers is thrilled to welcome Dr. Anupa Mandava to our practice and vitreoretinal service. Originally from New York, Dr. Mandava graduated from The George Washington University with a Bachelor of Science and Major in Biology. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the American University of the Caribbean where she was a member of the Alpha Omega Phi Honor Society and Service Society.
She completed her intern year at Flushing Hospital where she was awarded “Intern of the Year.” This was followed by an ophthalmology residency at the Jamaica Hospital Medical Center/NYMC Brooklyn & Queens. She served as chief resident in her final year, teaching and supervising junior resident physicians. She then completed a medical and surgical vitreoretinal diseases fellowship with the Eye Specialty Group in Memphis, TN. She has participated in ophthalmic research in ocular trauma and diagnostic techniques in retinal disease.
Dr. Mandava specializes in the medical and surgical management of retinal disease. This includes diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal detachment and ocular trauma. In her spare time, she enjoys running with her dog, reading and playing soccer.
