Thomas King OD

Thomas King, OD is a general optometrist whose practice is concentrated in the fields of specialty contact lenses and low vision, with particular interest in high astigmatism and irregular corneas.

Dr. King received both his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees from the University of California at Berkeley.  He interned at Letterman Army Hospital in San Francisco’s Presidio, and at Pacific Presbyterian Medical Center Contact Lens Clinic (now CPMC’s Pacific Campus).  He is a 1997 diplomate of the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease Course, and in 2001 completed his Glaucoma Certification.

Dr. King entered practice in his hometown of San Diego in 1987, but returned to the Bay Area four years later and has lived and practiced in San Francisco ever since.  He joined Pacific Eye Associates in 2003.  Dr. King is an avid supporter of public education in San Francisco, and, as a coach for many years of soccer and baseball, an advocate for youth sports as well.  Dr. King is a member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association and the San Francisco Optometric Society.
